Simplicity on the
Lifelong Learning Journey

What are we?

Coach Simplicity is a community of Servant Leaders that provides Business Agility Transformation services.

Our unique selling proposition is that we rapidly deliver JIT (Just in Time) value to organizations on a Digital Transformation Journey, on a subscription basis, which is easy to turn on and off, and less than 50% of the price of full-time hourly business models.  We seek to deliver value in short bursts (6 to 9 months) such that at the end of our engagements, your organization is self-sufficient to inspect and adapt towards high performance.

Because of our deep understanding of Agile, Scaling Approaches, and running Agile organizations, we can rapidly build trust, and accelerate organizations journey towards Business Agility and a culture of continuous learning.

When delivering our custom training, we understand that Teams (Portfolio, Program/Product, or Delivery) benefit most when training is 2 hours or less and delivered at the point of gap discovery.  This removes the waste of providing material that is not retained and consequently lost.

Finally, every attendee that is interested, becomes a part of the Coach Simplicity transformation coach community, where we can all help each other in providing opinions on how to deal with team, leadership, and humans conflicting with other humans type of challenges.

Business transformations have a very high failure rate. There are so many reasons for this including leadership (C-level and VP level) lack of buy-in and engagement, middle management fear and uncertainty of where they will fit into the future organization, and lack of clear vision and expectations of what is reasonable/possible.

Additionally, the ability to “Build a Guiding Coalition” and “Enlist a Volunteer Army” (from John Trotter, the absolute Big Head in Change Management) requires having either humans skilled in the roles needed for an organization Scaled for Business Agility or there needs to be a way to provide talented and committed humans with the tools, techniques and mindsets needed to transform an organization to high performance Business Agility.

We exists to help train that army!

Eric, Brandon, and Sol all participated in the creation and evolution of the Blue Collar Objects experiment.  From the beginning, we sought to build an Agile company even though all we knew how to do was write software, and lead teams of diverse roles in delivering products.  Everything was test and learn, from marketing and operations to writing Java code, leveraging the then new ideas like XML and Service Oriented Architecture.  We also recognized how critical Servant Leadership was for all levels and as such provided the whole company with Servant Leadership training from the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership and Scrum Master training for every employee.

Our management team had daily standups and we figured out how to get alignment between the business teams, and multiple software teams which were using the same SaaS platform we built on three separate customer engagement while building apps on top of the platform to facilitate Scrum at Scale concepts before it was a branded idea by Jeff Sutherland.

Between the Blue Collar Objects experiment, receiving training from the actual big heads which created the foundation for Agile product delivery, and diverse customer engagement with very large and small organizations, we bring the “been there, done that” component to our classes to enhance the learning experience.

We exist to help train an army of transformation agents to increase the probability of transformation success!

Coach Simplicity Values

Coach Simplicity Values

Simplicity

The Agile Manifesto defines simplicity as "the art of maximizing the amount of work not done".

We highly value this principle. In our training, coaching and any aspect of what we deliver and how we deliver, we seek to struggle for simplicity so that all involved can benefit from the scaling benefits of simplicity.

Speed

One of the key characteristics of Servant Leadership is Listening... not just to what is said but what is "unsaid".

We strive to actively listen to humans and the market and to rapidly respond as we gain understanding, to the benefit of all who participate in our growing ecosystem.

Honesty

We believe that honesty is the courage, to tell the truth, especially when putting image, relationships>and personal possessions at risk.

Honesty minus Compassion equals Brutality. We embrace Honesty with Compassion.

Win/Win Agreements

We pursue excellence in the delivery of coaching, training, and listening.

In all of our agreements with humans we seek deals where all benefit such that the benefits of all are greater than the sum of each human's commitment.

These values guide us in the evolution of the coaching/leadership ecosystem that will provide learning, friendship, and prosperity for those willing to work hard at continuous improvement.

What we are

Coach Simplicity is a Training organization. We focused on providing the research, tools, technique and decades of experience delivering systems and transforming organizations to give our attendees a training experience that shows real value.

Our emphasis is to use exercises that let the participants actually do the work of transformation using tools that work in the real world.

There are many ways to facilitate an organization's journey to high performance.

Using simplicity as our guiding principle, we will show ways that can work while through Q&A and class participant collaboration explore alternate approaches. For public training classes, our emphasis is convenience for both trainers and attendees.

As such our classes will be provided during nonwork hours; weekends and in the evenings. This way, attendees who are consultants can save the daily hit they would have to take to attend the class during the week.

Additionally, organizations can ease the pain of enabling their employees learning without sacrificing team capacity (when appropriate). Finally, every attendee becomes a part of the Coach Simplicity transformation coach community, where we can all help each other in providing opinions on how to deal with team, leadership, and humans conflicting with other human types of challenges.
